Life as a Comedy Coach
Back in the day, my students and clients won most of the Comedy Contests
held across the USA.
Our first victory was my coaching Ronn Lucas to win the San Francisco
Comedy Competition.
These are my thoughts two years before that on "How to Win the Next San Francisco
Comedy Competition"
as printed in the San Francisco Sunday Examiner and Chronicle Datebook
entertainment
section:

For me to coach and co-write your act to victory this year,
you first of all have to pass the 43rd San Francisco & Seattle Comedy Competition’s
audition requirements.
Applications will be accepted May 1 through August 1, 2018:

You can make use of my services before/during/and after the contest:

I’d recommend we meet at least an hour/week between now and
when you submit your 10-minute audition video.
During the competition, we would want to meet as necessary.
Taylor Mason still makes me share the "blame" for his winning
the “Star Search” $100,000.
And Ross Shafer offers his astonished comments after I helped him win the Seattle
Comedy Competition
which lead to his hosting Fox TV’s “The Late Show."
Here’s further endorsements from Ronn, Taylor, Ross and a few more folks:

Crucial information on the contests
and categories where you can score points:
Material, Stage Presence, Delivery, Technique, Audience Response, Audience
Rapport,
and the judges' "Gut Feeling" about the performer.
... There is also an extra point awarded given by the audience through
their applause after a comedian's performance.
If the audience gives a ten-count of enthusiastic applause,
the extra point is awarded.

Prize money:
Facebook, May 1, 2018:
"There is a $15,000 prize pool shared by those performers
who advance through to the Semi-Finals and Finals,
with $5,000 of that prize pool going to the winner."

Here’s the "Life
as a Comedy Coach" story
behind my coaching Ronn Lucas to win both
the San Francisco and National
Comedy Competitions
broadcast on Showtime Cable TV.
